OPEN POSITION

The Higher Education Division (HED) is currently recruiting for a Vancouver based Technology Specialist.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technology Specialist is:

  • Dedicated to “driving sales” by providing professional sales expertise and training with a focus on specific markets, products, skills and customers. 
  • A “Technology Expert” for all product specific technologies.
  • Responsible for advanced level technology training for Sales Representatives and Managers.
  • Additionally the TS acts as a liaison to maximize relationships between our Sales, Editorial, Custom Editorial, New Media and Marketing departments.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Approximately 80% of the Technology Specialist’s time will be spent on campus working directly with the Sales Representatives.  Product Specialist for key markets and technology generalist for all Pearson HED technologies.
  • Drive traditional and custom editorial/media sales by providing expertise and training.
  • Deliver Pearson technology training and assessment to Sales Representatives and Managers.
  • Assist Sales Representatives through in-field coaching and training (sales tools, product knowledge, product–specific technology).
  • Coordinate the creation and delivery of all Pearson Service Agreements (Advantage Program).
  • Relay market information gathered in the field to relevant colleagues for future development of sales tools, Sales Meeting presentations etc.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive spreadsheet that tracks your adoptions. 
  • Assist with presentation of print and technology products, working with the Marketing Managers to determine the needs of the Sales Representatives, and market challenges.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of events, attending as necessary.
  • Provide input as sales tools and promotional campaigns are being developed.
  • Act as main presenter for large-scale presentations, arranging other speakers as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A university degree
  • 3 – 5 years experience as a Sales Representative in College Publishing
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to provide coaching and feedback in a constructive manner
  • Strategic and analytical thinking skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
