Addressing difficulties that interfere with literacy in K-3 |

Participants learn how to observe and analyze critical behaviours that prevent struggling readers from initiating successful problem–solving strategies. Teachers learn how to plan for intervention to assure and support reading success.

Highlights of the Workshop
- Understand the reading and writing process and how they change over time
- Become aware of the factors that contribute to reading challenges
- Develop small group intervention strategies to support struggling readers
- Recognize the importance of levelled text ( Fountas & Pinnell Text Gradient)
- Develop strategies for teaching, prompting for, and reinforcing effective reading and writing behaviours
